Medical Marijuana Card in Denver, CO
You probably qualify more easily than you think. MMD Medical Doctors has been evaluating Denver patients for Colorado’s medical marijuana program since 2009. Walk in, no appointment needed, no judgment. Most first-time evaluations take under an hour, start to finish.
Do You Qualify?
Colorado’s medical marijuana program currently lists these as approved debilitating conditions: cancer, arthritis, AIDS/HIV, glaucoma, severe or chronic pain, neuropathy, PTSD, degenerative disc disease, seizures and/or epilepsy, severe nausea, and migraines. You must be at least 21 years old. A licensed physician determines whether your specific condition and history qualify. Every case is evaluated individually.
What the Evaluation Involves?
Your evaluation includes a review of your medical history and a conversation about your condition with a licensed physician. The process is more straightforward than most first-time patients expect.

What to Bring
Prior medical records may be required if your evaluating physician determines they’re medically necessary to confirm your condition. Bringing what you have speeds up the visit.
What it Costs
Total cost is a fair question, and it’s one worth doing the math on before you walk in. Our cost breakdown covers what a Denver evaluation actually runs and how it compares to what you’d pay out of pocket without a card.
Does it Affect Your Job or Your Right to Own a Gun?
These are two of the most common questions we hear from first-time patients, and they deserve straight answers, not guesses. Our guides walk through both directly.

No. You can walk in without a referral. If you have prior medical records related to your condition, bringing them can help your evaluation, but a referral isn’t required to be seen.
Yes. Colorado’s medical marijuana registry requires state residency to qualify for a card.
Every case is evaluated individually by a licensed physician based on your condition and history. If you’re unsure whether your specific situation qualifies, that’s exactly what the evaluation is for.
Colorado medical marijuana cards are valid for one year. Renewal is a shorter visit than your first evaluation, since you’ll already have a record on file.
